Join me on a personal journey through 'Oriented Destinies: Hungarian Architects in Asia', an exploration of the rich blend of Eastern aesthetics and Hungarian architectural talent. Discover the stories behind the creations that bridge two worlds.
As my hands hover above the keyboard, my thoughts take me on a journey that traverses not just geographies but also time. I recently walked through the halls of the Műcsarnok (Art Hall), where 'Oriented Destinies: Hungarian Architects in Asia' unveiled its treasures. Here, the past and present converged, and, thrillingly, my own works found their place among those creations deeply connected to Asia by heart and soul.
This exhibition was a magical voyage through time, starting with the Eastern journeys of the 1800s, spanning the orientalist perspectives of Hungarian Secession, the architectural opportunities between the World Wars, and leading up to the contemporary successes of Hungarian architects in Asia. It's an honor for me that my works, realized in Arab cities, contribute to this rich and diverse intellectual heritage.
The distant lands, cities, and cultures I encountered in my work have deeply and irrevocably shaped my creative vision. Through the language of architecture, I've sought to bridge the East and West, past and present, dreams and reality. And now, walking through the halls of Műcsarnok, I saw that I'm not alone on this path.
I deeply appreciate the efforts of the Műcsarnok and the Hungarian Museum of Architecture and Monument Protection Documentation Centre, who made it possible for us to showcase our works and share the stories that inspired them. Special thanks go to Eszter Baldavári, the curator of the exhibition, who guided us through this exciting journey with personal attention and professional expertise.
As I headed home after visiting the exhibition, the artworks and the stories behind them kept coming back to me. The 'Oriented Destinies' exhibition reinforced my belief that architecture, like all arts, is indeed a universal language capable of connecting people, cultures, and eras.
Thank you for allowing my work to be part of this special event. I am grateful to every visitor who shared this unforgettable experience with me, and I hope the inspiration provided by the 'Oriented Destinies' exhibition will further enrich our own journeys—whether we travel to the East in reality or in our dreams.
